Lick Magazine met with Marianne Buttner founder and CEO of the new Petrosexual brand of unique fashion forward travel gear and pet carriers. Marianne, how did you come up with the idea and concept of Petrosexual and where did you get that crazy name?

Marianne:
I was living in south Florida and looking for a new carrier for my small pet. I saw lots of the same kind of carrier regardless of price on the street, in boutiques and on the web. I decided that I should create a carrier that reflected my own personal style which includes a variety of fashion looks.

And the name? “Petrosexual”
I loved the name the minute I heard it? It had been used in the industry over a decade ago and I thought it was the perfect name to express my love and passion for pets.

Barbara Jayne:
Tell us about Oliver your new dog and his role as the “Petrosexual Brand Ambassador”?

Marianne:
Ollie is a scruffy, adorable, 5 pound Chihuahua/terrier mix who has a bad hair day every day.
Ollie is the present day love of my life and is featured in my advertising campaign enjoying his reign and his fashionable travel around the country in his latest Petrosexual carrier.

Barbara Jayne:
Tell us about the Petrosexual Carriers?

Marianne:
The Petrosexual carrier is a high quality canvas luggage grade pet carrier that meets with most airlines “on board” regulations. It features top zipper entry, rubber mesh windows at both ends (for ventilation) and large hidden zippered pocket on one side.

And I have created an inaugural collection of fashion embellishments.
